A one-year diploma that trains you to work therapeutically with plant medicines — from leaf and root to seed and whole plant.
Program overview
This diploma program consists of 30 credit hours (equal to 1000 hours) and runs as a one-year term of study. You complete every assigned course and study requirement to earn the Diploma in Herbal Science & Master Herbalist Consultant.
Objectives
To graduate successfully with the Herbal Science & Master Herbalist Consultant, you should be able to:
- Use your knowledge of plant medicines in therapeutic consultation to promote health, prevention and relief of illness
- Work with plant parts — leaf, shoot, flower, root, seed, fruit and whole plant — to help prevent and address a range of illnesses, allergies and chronic conditions
- Understand modern herbal medicine alongside traditional herbal philosophy and the basic concepts of conventional medicine
- Keep up to date with new research in the field of plant medicine
- Maintain accurate client records
- Educate the public and teach about herbal medicine

Note: Each course runs on a 12-week period that includes three exams, assignments and a paper per course.
