Wais Seddiqi

Student Research Assistant

Mr. Wais Seddiqi earned his B.Sc. in General Biology, with a minor in Psychology, at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He carried out undergraduate research at UC San Diego's Moores Cancer Center, where he received in-depth training in transcribing focus interviews — learning to interview patients respectfully, draw out detail about their emotions, and listen for subtle shifts in tone when discussing delicate health topics.

He was a co-author on an abstract presented at the American Association for Cancer Education's national meeting in October 2014, published in the peer-reviewed record of the National Cancer Institute.

As a mentor and tutor at UCSD, Mr. Seddiqi developed experience in leadership and community service, guiding students to the resources specific to their major and to important application deadlines. He is fluent in several languages — Dari, Pashto, Persian, Hindi, Dutch, German and English.

He has shadowed physicians at the Osteopathic Center San Diego, observing a whole-body approach to medicine and manual techniques used to diagnose and treat restrictions that contribute to pain and disease, and to help patients adopt lifestyle changes aimed at prevention. He brings that same dynamic, caring approach to assisting prospective students at BioNatural Healing College.
