Dr. Tanveer Alam received his Ph.D. in Natural Product Chemistry from Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, India in 2001. As a Research Associate in the Faculty of Pharmacy there, he worked on water-soluble derivatives of Silymarin — the active principle of Silybum marianum.
He began his career as an R&D executive in a natural flavour and fragrance company, later serving as General Manager and Head of R&D across national and multinational natural-product industries. He has more than 17 years of R&D experience in Natural Products Chemistry and has worked as an Associate Professor at the Eritrea Institute of Technology.
He is a Ph.D. supervisor at JJT University, Rajasthan, an advisory board member for pharma and natural food-colour industries, and a member of the editorial boards and a referee for more than thirty national and international journals. He has published more than 25 research papers and developed several new technologies for herbal products.
